Winfield Elementary School has been recognized by the TN Department of Education as a Reward School. It was announced on February 19.
Each year, schools and their districts are eligible for designations based on their overall performance across indicators that are essential to student success.
Winfield Elementary School is also designated as a Reward school for 2022-2023.
Reward status is the top state distinction a public school can earn in Tennessee. Schools are recognized as a Reward School when they demonstrate high levels of performance or improvement in performance by meeting objectives across performance indicators and student groups. It is recognition for outstanding student success on achievement and growth.
“It is great to see our schools recognized for their performance and progress in being among the top five percent of schools in the state,” said Director of Schools Bill Hall. “This recognition is reflective of the hard work happening in our classrooms, the excellent work that our teachers, staff, and students are doing, and the support of our community. I applaud them for their focus on student learning and making sure each student has a pathway for success.”
“Winfield is known for its small numbers,” interim principal Brandi Harris said on Facebook. “But we have seen just what big accomplishments those small numbers can achieve.”
