Parent and Family Engagement Plan

Winfield Elementary School
School Parent and Family Engagement Plan
2025-2026

Purpose

Winfield Elementary School recognizes that families are our students’ first and most important teachers. We are committed to fostering strong partnerships between home and school to maximize student success. This Parent & Family Engagement Policy outlines how Winfield Elementary will involve families in meaningful ways to support student learning, school improvement, and community connection in accordance with the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

Policy Goals

1. Promote Shared Responsibility

o Establish a strong home–school partnership built on trust, respect, and shared goals for student achievement.

o Empower families to actively participate in their child’s education both at home and at school.

2. Ensure Two-Way Communication

o Provide clear, timely, and accessible information to families in multiple formats (print, digital, social media, and in person).

o Create opportunities for families to give feedback and contribute to decision-making.

3. Build Capacity for Engagement

o Offer learning opportunities for families to better understand curriculum, assessments, and ways to support learning at home.

o Provide staff training on effective family engagement strategies that are culturally responsive and inclusive.
