ATTENTION! ATTENTION! After School Program begins on August 23!
Dear Parents and Students,
We would like to invite you to be a part of our After School Program which will begin on Monay August 23, 2010 . The program will be for 2 hours Monday through Thursday, from 3:05pm until 5:00pm at the Winfield School. We will have an Emergent Reader Group (K-1) and an Independent Reader Group (2-8). We will take the first 30 students who sign up for the program.

In-School Program will began in August After School Prgram begins August 23,2010, from 3:05 till 5:00pm Gas vouchers for attendance during after school will be given again this year. Summer Prgram will begin June 1st. |
In-School Program: selects students recommended by teachers that need help reading. We have special tutorials for; guided independent reading, site words, fluency, phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension. For emergent readers(K-1) we do tutorials on leter sounds, letter recognition, site words and shared reading. After School Program: the program is held Monday through Thursday from 3:05 to 5:00pm. We begin each day with a healthy delicious snack, such as apples and graham crackers. The children then split into groups and begin the rotation. The rotations consists of three 30 minute blocks: physical activity, independent reading, and read aloud fluency. For emergent reader (K-1) they also have three 30 minute blocks for a read aloud activity, a physical activity, and a poem and activity. Summer Program: Lots of fun learning activities that help keep their reading skills over the summer, helping them have a better start to the new school year. |
